About This Site
Welcome to the website of ICVA, the International Council of Voluntary Agencies. Founded in 1962, ICVA is a global network of human rights, humanitarian, and development NGOs, which focuses its information exchange and advocacy efforts primarily on humanitarian affairs and refugee issues. The website plays a key role in sharing timely and accurate information on humanitarian affairs with, and among, ICVA members to better enable them to take informed decisions with regards to their operations and/or advocacy.
The ICVA website provides a wide range of information resources including meeting reports and updates, policy and working group documents, access to training resources and toolkits, information on ICVA and its members, NGO statements, and ICVA's newsletter, Talk Back. The website also contains a calendar, which lists humanitarian meetings, many of which are organised by ICVA or have ICVA participation, and that take place in Geneva and elsewhere. The "what's new" page features the latest information on humanitarian policy issues. More information about website content is available on the site map.
The website's members-only section, which is accessible through a username and password, includes debate and analysis of issues that are not available in the public domain, along with documents that require members' input or feedback. Each staff member of an ICVA member organisation is entitled to access this section. They simply need to send a message to webmaster@icva.ch requesting a username and password. NGOs that are interested in joining ICVA can request a temporary guest user name and password.
